The Tweed Run

"A metropolitan bicycle ride with a bit of style." Music and Film by Temujin Doran

Rugby Ralph Lauren captures footage from the event and commentary from some of London's most influential fashion bloggers, stars from the Made in Chelsea television program and other moustachioed and tweed-toting participants.

The Tweed Run is a group bicycle ride through the centre of London, in which the cyclists dress in traditional British cycling attire, particularly tweed suits. Any bicycle is acceptable on the Tweed Run, but classic vintage bicycles are encouraged. Some effort to recreate the spirit of a bygone era is always appreciated.

In 2012 Greatcoat Films joined the London run and this is the footage we captured.

tokyobike is a small, independent bicycle company founded in 2002 in the quiet Tokyo suburb of Yanaka. The name was derived from the design of the bikes. In the same way the mountain bike was designed for the mountains so tokyobike was designed for Tokyo. More about slow than fast, tokyobike is as much about discovering your city and enjoying the ride as it is about the destination. Very much in the slow vein, this film is a tokyobike short from the Tweed Run, London 2012 Visit the new tokyobike Londo

Come along and join The Tweed Run where participants wear a tweed outfit and partly ride on historical bicycles through downtown London. This started out as a kind of protest for more quiet a year ago when 150 Brits cycled through the British capital. The 12-mile-long route goes from central London passing the Tate Britain, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Saville Row and St. Paul's Cathedral.

Pashley were pleased to be part of the London Tweed Run for the 7th year running. Everyone looked splendid in tweed attire as they cycled past London’s iconic landmarks. During the ride there was time for a very British tea break and picnic, and a jolly knees-up to round off the day. Filmed and edited by Denis Plesca who rode a Pashley Guv’nor.
